On 6th May 2007, 45060 suffered a main generator failure, when the banding lifted and caused damage to the genny, in this collection of pictures it will show the work needed to get 'Sherwood' up and running again.

22nd September 2007 The main generator was lifted out of 45060 and transported to Bowers for assesment, the lift went well apart from the last bolt didnt want to come out but it eventually gave way.Big thanks to James Williams,Shaun Wright,Kozzie and Mervin Allcock @ BH for all there help in this project.

11th October 2007 A visit to Bowers to see the genny dismantled.

3rd January 2008 Another visit to Bowers to see progress on the genny. The main field was being repaired with the damage to the interpole connections.

29th January 2008 Latest visit to Bowers shows the field compensating connections repaired and taped,the gen busbars reinsulated.

19th October 2008 45060 was moved inside the shed @BH on road 3 so work can be carried out before the Main generator is returned to the loco .

6th February 2009 45060s Armature was transported back to Bowers from Barrow Hill

17th March 2009 all repaired windings and clips soldered up and new bandings fitted armature varnished and bake for 12 hours in the Oven

20th March 2009 After reskimming and balancing, the armature was reunited with the field frame

21st March 2009 The main Generator was reunited with 45060 power unit

11th April 2009 45060 was started up at BH

13th April 2009 45060 was started again and ran for 90 minutes

7th May 2009 45060 was dragged in convoy to Swanage

8th May 2009 after 2years and 2 days since generator failed 45060 hauled its first train at the Swanage Gala
